FILLER
In order to understand the Filler Applications in medical aesthetics, it is necessary to know the changes that occur in the aging process, especially in the face area.
Aging is a process that starts from the day we are born and accelerates from the 30s onwards, negatively affecting all organs, especially the skin. Although this process is inevitable, it is affected by many factors such as genetic factors, environmental conditions, eating habits, hormonal status, smoking-alcohol, lifestyle, etc. The most affected organ is the skin and subcutaneous support tissues, especially the bone structure.
Over time, with the effect of the factors mentioned above, there are regional decreases in the elements that give a healthy appearance such as elasticity, moisture, shine, etc. in the skin’s own structure, as well as in the bone and fat tissue that support it. These supportive tissue losses are tried to be eliminated or reduced by filling applications, which have an important place in medical aesthetics.
The filler not only gives volume to the soft or bone tissue in the area where it is applied, but also contributes to the renewal of the skin and subcutaneous tissue in that area as much as possible thanks to the active ingredients in its content.
WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF FILLERS? HOW LONG ARE THEIR LASTING TIMES?
A single type of product should not be perceived when it comes to fillers. In the simplest way, it would be the most accurate approach to classify fillers according to the active ingredients they contain and their duration of permanence;
1. Temporary Fillings;
- They are fillers containing Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid is a substance that gives the skin a shiny and moist appearance and is already abundant in healthy skin.
- They can have different densities and permanence depending on the area where they are applied and the desired results of the filling treatment. They have a permanence period between 4-18 months depending on the metabolic rate of the person, the area where they are applied and the density differences.
- In addition to the volume effect in the area where it is applied, they create a more moist and vibrant appearance due to the water absorption feature of Hyaluronic Acid. Therefore, it is the only option for Lip Filling and Under Eye Light Filling.
- In case of dissatisfaction or unwanted appearance due to filling application, it can be dissolved within hours with its antidote containing an enzyme called Hyaluronidase. It is the safest filler application.
2. Semi Permanent Fillings;
- It contains molecules that cannot be easily dissolved in the body, especially Calcium Hydroxyapatite, and has a permanence of 2-5 years in the area where it is applied,
- In addition to the volume effect, it also has a regenerative effect, especially tissue regeneration, in the area where it is applied,
- Nose Filler, Jawline Filler, Nasolabial Filler, Cheekbone Shaping (Midface) Filler, especially used to support deep tissues such as bone tissue,
- It is a type of filling that cannot be easily melted when an undesirable situation occurs.
3. Permanent Fillings;
- It contains mainly Polymethylmethacrylate, which is very difficult to be dissolved by the body,
- Lasting over 10 years in the area where it is applied,
- It is a type of filling preferred in other parts of the body such as hips, breasts, etc. rather than the face.
